"Thank you once again for this collaboration. As I’ve said many times, I genuinely believe that, together with you and Timbi, our team has the potential to achieve remarkable things. The future holds great promise and I look forward to what we will accomplish together in the next steps."

Prof. Stratos Stylianidis, ex. Vice Rector for Research and Lifelong Learning Faculty of Engineering School of Spatial Planning and Development Director - Laboratory of Geoinformatics Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

From observation to orchestration

The Lab of Geoinformatics at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, led by Professor Stratos Stylianidis, is a recognized leader in applying geospatial technologies and digital innovation to cultural heritage. Building on decades of expertise, the lab plays a crucial role in connecting academia with applied research and European policy.

In the CHERISH project, the Lab addresses Europe’s growing skills gap in the cultural heritage sector, particularly in digital transformation, AI, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. Together with a diverse consortium of VET providers, universities, cultural institutions, and tech SMEs, the goal is to shape the professionals of tomorrow, creative, digitally skilled, and entrepreneurial.

The ever changing landscape

Europe’s cultural heritage ecosystem is evolving fast. The sector needs professionals who understand both cultural context and digital capability. CHERISH responds by designing new competence frameworks, innovative curricula, and immersive learning platforms that merge digital and physical environments. Learners gain micro-credentials and new qualifications recognized across Europe, paving the way for emerging roles like Cultural Experience Designer.

The shift from analysis to action

Timbi collaborated with the Lab of Geoinformatics to strengthen the project’s strategy, structure, and impact pathways. We supported the proposal design, ensured coherence between research and vocational training goals, and helped plan dissemination, exploitation, and long-term sustainability actions. The result is a project that doesn’t just address skills gaps, it builds a scalable, future-ready ecosystem for Europe’s cultural and creative industries.

  • Strengthened project structure and strategic coherence

  • Designed dissemination and impact planning framework
