Virtual Words for Cultural Heritage

"At Over The Reality, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of Physical AI. With Timbi we established a long-term vision on EU projects to make real impact. I’m confident that this is just the beginning of an exciting journey, and I look forward to building the future together."

Michele Zanello, Head of Growth, Over The Reality

From augmented spaces to global opportunities

Based in Italy, Over the Reality is building one of the world’s first spatial computing platforms in augmented reality (AR), a digital ecosystem where users can create, own, and explore interactive experiences connected to real-world locations. Their platform blends AR, virtual environments, and blockchain-based ownership to enable creators to design immersive cultural, educational, and entertainment experiences.

Over’s ambition was clear: to expand its presence in European research and innovation and position itself as a leading AR technology partner in upcoming EU projects. To achieve this, Timbi supported the company in defining its EU funding strategy, identifying key opportunities aligned with Horizon Europe and Digital Europe priorities, and building the foundations for sustained growth in new markets.

The power of collaboration

Together, we worked with Over’s internal EU team and engineering department to prepare two major EU research applications. The most recent consortium brought together 10 leading organisations across Europe, including universities, research institutions, and technology SMEs, as well as one partner from South Korea, reflecting the project’s global scope and ambition.

This initiative proposed a next-generation XR platform combining meta-optical displays, adaptive personalisation, and haptic feedback to transform how audiences engage with cultural heritage. By integrating human-centric design and accessibility principles, the project envisioned a radically inclusive, immersive way to experience culture, both on-site and remotely.

The shift from analysis to action

Over align its technical excellence with European innovation priorities. The result was a stronger, scalable EU presence and a clear path toward future research leadership in spatial computing and immersive technologies.
